Getting the perfect fit
Fingers change over the years, and a surprise proposal doesn’t always get the size right first time. Either way, we’ll resize your ring at our bench and polish it back to new.

Limited or not possible
- Limited or not possible: Full eternity rings — diamonds all the way round leave no plain metal to adjust
- Limited or not possible: Pavé or channel set all the way round — stretching the band can loosen the stones
- Limited or not possible: Tension settings — the pressure of the band holds the diamond in place
For these designs we can usually remake the ring at your new size instead. We’ll explain the options and cost before any work begins.

Caring for your ring at home
A few simple habits keep your ring sparkling between visits.
Do
- Clean it gently with warm, soapy water and a soft brush
- Pat it dry with a soft, lint-free cloth
- Store it on its own, in its box or a soft pouch
- Take it off before bed, the gym and sport
Avoid
- Chlorine and swimming pools
- Bleach and household cleaners
- A build-up of hand cream or sanitiser
- Heavy lifting, gardening and DIY
- Ultrasonic cleaners, which can harm some gemstones
Care by metal
Platinum
Platinum develops a soft, satin-like patina with wear. Many people love it; if you prefer a high shine, we can polish it back.
White gold
White gold is finished with rhodium for a bright white look. The rhodium softens with wear, so re-plating every year or two keeps it bright.
Yellow & rose gold
Yellow and rose gold keep their colour for life. An occasional professional polish lifts fine surface scratches.

Is resizing free?
Resizing is free within 60 days of purchase. After that, we’ll give you a price before any work starts.
Will resizing affect the hallmark or warranty?
We resize away from the hallmark wherever possible, so it stays in place. Resizing carried out by us keeps your ring covered by our warranty.
Can I resize a ring bought elsewhere?
Usually, yes. Bring it in and we’ll look at the metal and setting, then give you a price before we start.
How many sizes can a ring go up or down?
Most plain and solitaire rings can go up or down by about two sizes. Beyond that, or with stone-set bands, we may suggest remaking the band. We’ll advise once we’ve seen the ring.
How often should I have my ring checked?
Once a year is ideal. We’ll clean it, check the claws and setting, and tell you if anything needs attention.
Do you service rings while I wait?
A clean and check can often be done during your visit. Resizing and repairs take longer, so we’ll arrange collection or insured delivery.
